Heritage Grant Guidelines

YouthBridge Community Foundation awards one-year grants of $5,000 in general operating support to child and family serving nonprofit organizations that primarily provide foster and adoptive care services or family support services designed to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Eligibility

Organizations eligible to apply for Heritage Grants include those that:

  • Are incorporated as an IRC section 501(c)(3) organization
  • Have a mission that is primarily focused on child welfare – specifically foster and adoptive care services or family support services designed to prevent child abuse and neglect
  • Are located in and primarily serve the 16-county Saint Louis metropolitan area
  • Have been in operation at least two years, including branches or franchises of national organizations
  • Have staff leadership that has been in place for a minimum of one year as of July 1, 2016 or can demonstrate consistency in organizational leadership

Organizations that received a YouthBridge General Operating Grant in 2015 are not eligible to apply.

Criteria

Selection criteria include the following:

  • Mission-fit of the applicant
  • Evidence of program success
  • Programs that align with community-wide collaborations or initiatives
  • A strong board and staff leadership
  • Financial stability

Timeline

  • July 1, 2016 – Grant process opens
  • August 12, 2016 – Applications are due
  • Week of September 26, 2016 – Grant Committee decides and awards are announced
