Agency Fundholder Spotlight: Giant Steps of Saint Louis

YouthBridge Community Foundation of Greater St. Louis offers endowment building services to help nonprofit agencies generate income for longer-term initiatives. Delivering access to low-cost, high-quality investment solutions and education on endowments is only the start. YouthBridge assists with the entire process – from establishing an endowment fund to financial reporting that creates the greatest impact. YouthBridge also provides matching funds each year to child-serving nonprofits that start or add to their endowment!

Organizations with endowment funds at YouthBridge are called Agency Fundholders. Each month we spotlight one Agency Fundholder to shine light on these meaningful relationships. This month we feature Giant Steps of St. Louis. Executive Director, Dani Vescolani, shares the story.

Q. In what ways has the endowment changed your long-term vision or expanded the possibilities for your organization’s future?

A. The endowment has given us a sense of stability, allowing us to plan for future programs confidently. By demonstrating responsible fund usage, we enhance our credibility and instill trust in our mission of serving children with autism, assuring donors that their contributions create a lasting impact.

Q. If another nonprofit leader asked whether starting an endowment is YouthBridge is worth it, what would you say – and why?

A. Our vision centers on fostering sustainable growth that enhances our ability to serve future generations. By prioritizing additional endowment contributions, we ensure long-term stability and support for our mission, enabling us to innovate and expand our impact effectively.

Q. What recent moments or milestones have made you especially proud – the kind that remind you why you do this work?

A. Starting an endowment with YouthBridge is invaluable for long-term sustainability. Their expertise ensures effective management of funds while fostering community engagement. This financial security allowed us to focus on our mission rather than immediate funding needs, ultimately enhancing our impact and stability for future generations.
