Ashland Tate

On August 3, YouthBridge Community Foundation lost a beloved member of our family when Board Director Ashland Tate was shot and killed. Ashland joined our Board in the summer of 2018, bringing a passion for serving children and a perspective that helped make us a better Grantmaker. In his 35 short years, he served the community both professionally and as a volunteer in many ways.  He served as past Executive Director of Boys Hope Girls Hope of St. Louis – a program he participated in as a child growing up in New Orleans –  volunteered with the University of Missouri St. Louis, Whitfield School and YouthBridge.
We mourn for a role model, colleague, friend and devoted family man and express our deepest condolences to those he has left behind.  A GoFundMe account has been set up to assist his family with expenses and to assist Ashland’s two boys with their education.
