Building Lasting Impact: How YouthBridge and GRC Grow What Matters

Strengthening Organizations for the Long Term

YouthBridge Community Foundation brings donors and nonprofits together across the St. Louis region with a shared focus: helping children and families thrive. Through leadership, Grants, and Donor Services, YouthBridge does not just fund organizations—it builds long-term partnerships that strengthen their impact over time.

Gifted Resource Council (GRC) is strengthening its impact by establishing an Endowment at YouthBridge. Through this partnership, GRC now has access to cost-effective Pooled Investment Funds, along with YouthBridge’s expertise in the long-term management of charitable assets. The flexibility to accept complex gifts through YouthBridge allows GRC to meet Donors where they are, while the presence of an Endowment builds greater confidence among supporters who want to invest in a stable, future-focused organization.

At the same time, YouthBridge regrants the GRC fees back into the community, and opportunities like Matching Funds further amplify GRC’s resources and impact. Together, these benefits position GRC not just to grow—but to grow wisely and sustainably.

Today, GRC is part of a growing network of organizations supported by YouthBridge for long-term success.

From Idea to Impact: GRC’s Growth Story

The Gifted Resource Council began with a simple but urgent need. Forty-three years ago, four mothers gathered around a kitchen table, frustrated by the lack of opportunities for their gifted children—and decided to create their own. What started as a grassroots effort became a mission to connect schools, families, and community resources so bright young people could reach their full potential.

Today, GRC serves nearly 1,300 children each year through Learning Labs, Summer Academies, Academic Challenge Cup, and parent programming. Under Executive Director Laura Falk, the organization has grown significantly—Summer Academy registration alone rising from 236 enrollments in 2019 to 738 in 2025, despite the challenges of the COVID years.

That growth reflects more than demand—it signals lasting impact. Alumni return as volunteers, instructors, and leaders, with some now serving on the board or enrolling their own children. Paired with strong parent engagement, GRC continues to stand out as a deeply rooted, community-driven organization shaping generations of learners.
