Erin Strohbehn has a vision in her head of a stream of young people walking across a stage, heads held high, smiling from ear to ear, reaching out for their high school diploma with the enthusiasm of an Olympian grasping a medal.
It was 2018, the 20th anniversary of Annie’s Hope, and the first time the parents of the young lady for whom the organization was named were able to see firsthand the extent of its mission and meet some of the estimated 50,000 individuals it has touched.
On August 3, YouthBridge Community Foundation lost a beloved member of our family when Board Director Ashland Tate was shot and killed. Ashland joined our Board in the summer of 2018, bringing a passion for serving children and a perspective that helped make us a better Grantmaker.

YouthBridge takes a partnership approach with donors and private foundations, helping them make meaningful grants that match their values. We recently worked with the advisors to the William S. Anheuser Charitable Fund to award two grants from that donor-advised fund (DAF) in support of students at St. Louis Community College.
Network for Good recently recognized the foundations as “Top 50 Grantmakers” for “their leadership in driving nonprofits to adopt the solutions they can’t easily conceptualize themselves.”
Project SPAN received a grant from the Wayne C. Kaufmann Charitable Foundation to support diversity and inclusion within summer camps.

EarthDance Farms is working to bring healthier food choices and practices to this North County community and, by educating aspiring farmers and gardeners, to people across the country.
With a rich tradition of philanthropy, Moenkhaus says he sees St. Louisans giving freely and teaching their children to put aside self. “Learning to give is actually part of taking care of yourself. It enriches your body, mind and spirit, and the more you give, the more you get.”
YEP STL! (Youth Engaged in Philanthropy) presented grant awards totaling $10,000 to nine nonprofit organizations from the Greater St. Louis area.
YEP (Youth Engaged in Philanthropy) STL is a YouthBridge-led program introducing area high school students to the world of philanthropy.
YouthBridge was a proud sponsor of the Greater St. Louis Financial Symposium on April 25, 2019. The conference brought together a quality mix of financial professionals who shared “too many good ideas to list”.
