Founded in 2004, LESA provides comprehensive educational resources to schools serving approximately 8,200 students attending 34 Lutheran elementary and high schools in the metropolitan St. Louis area, as well as four Lutheran education-related agencies. LESA partners with its member schools to provide an educational setting that continues to meet and exceed national standards that foster a safe and nurturing environment allowing students and families to grow their faith.
One of LESA’s goals is to not only serve schools, but partner with families to make an affordable, academically-focused education accessible to children from all walks of life and diverse faith backgrounds. Since its inception, LESA has awarded more than 11,000 need-based scholarships totaling $7 million to children attending Lutheran elementary schools in the St. Louis area.
