From Trauma to Triumph: Strengthening Youth Through YouthBridge Capacity Grants
For over 175 years, Marygrove—a ministry of Catholic Charities of St. Louis—has provided a compassionate, structured environment for youth who have experienced trauma and adversity. With support from a YouthBridge Child Welfare Capacity Building Grant, Marygrove was able to purchase the FamCare software system, strengthening its operations through improved documentation, outcome tracking, and billing—critical tools that go beyond direct care funding from the state. Using trauma-informed care, Marygrove helps each child explore their past, heal, and develop skills for personal growth, family reunification when possible, and long-term success. One example, Patrick, overcame emotional and behavioral challenges through nearly two years of therapy and support, ultimately reuniting with his family stronger and more confident. As Executive Director Kathy Fowler notes:
