Agency Fundholder Spotlight: Cornerstone Center for Early Learning
YouthBridge Community Foundation of Greater St. Louis offers endowment building services to help nonprofit agencies generate long-term income. YouthBridge provides access to low-cost, high-quality investment solutions and endowment education, as well as assistance with the entire process that ranges from establishing an endowment fund to financial reporting to create the greatest impact. YouthBridge also provides matching funds each year to child-serving nonprofits that start or add to their endowment!
Organizations with endowment funds at YouthBridge are called Agency Fundholders. Each month we spotlight one Agency Fundholder to highlight these meaningful relationships. This month we feature Cornerstone Center for Early Learning, our newest Fundholder. We spoke with Karen Lucy, Executive Director.
Q. How has your endowment with YouthBridge changed your long-term vision or expanded the possibilities for the future of Cornerstone?
A. Cornerstone’s endowment with YouthBridge strengthens our long-term vision by creating sustainable support for the programs that build children’s developmental milestones and independence. This partnership ensures we can continue preparing young learners for kindergarten and investing in the future of St. Louis families.
Q. Does Cornerstone intend to make additional contributions to its endowment? If so, what is the motivation?
A. Cornerstone Center plans to continue building its endowment as resources allow, ensuring long-term stability for children and families. Additional contributions will be guided by economic conditions and our commitment to sustaining high-quality early learning for future generations.
Q. How would you reply to another nonprofit leader who asked your thoughts about establishing an endowment with YouthBridge?
A. I would recommend that other nonprofits considering endowments with YouthBridge conduct thorough research, check references, and take that calculated risk. As Nike states in their slogan: Just Do It!
