Agency Fundholder Spotlight: Gifted Resource Council
YouthBridge Community Foundation of Greater St. Louis offers endowment building services to help nonprofit agencies support long-term sustainability by generating income—and enhancing Donor confidence. YouthBridge provides access to low-cost, high-quality investment solutions and endowment education, along with assistance with the entire process. This ranges from the establishment of an Endowment Fund to financial reporting to create the greatest impact. YouthBridge also provides Matching Funds each year to child-serving nonprofits that start or add to their Endowment!
Organizations with Endowment Funds at YouthBridge are called Agency Fundholders. Each month we spotlight one Agency Fundholder to highlight these meaningful relationships. This month we feature Gifted Resource Council (GRC). We spoke with Laura Falk, Executive Director.
Q. Looking ahead, what possibilities or future impact do you see for your organization because of your Endowment with YouthBridge?
A. While Gifted Resource Council has been serving area families for 43 years, we often hear that we are a well-kept secret. Hopefully, our partnership with YouthBridge will help both families and funders learn about our programs and resources, and, with that knowledge, they will want to become involved.
Q. What vision or values guide your decision to continue growing your Endowment through additional contributions?
A. Growing our Endowment will allow us to use annual interest to support pressing organizational needs, including scholarship funding, while also ensuring the organization has the financial security to bring our mission to life for generations to come.
Q. If another nonprofit leader asked whether establishing an Endowment with YouthBridge is worth it, what would you tell them—and why?
A. Although new to YouthBridge, we’ve been impressed with their professionalism and enthusiasm. We’re excited about the upcoming training opportunities—as a small organization, it is hard to access high-quality advice without an accompanying high price. The Matching Funds are nice, too!
Q. Beyond your Endowment, does Gifted Resource Council have any exciting news, milestones, or upcoming events you would like to share with the community?
A. GRC is on track to have our largest Summer Academies program ever, with waitlists for most of our camps! Our Strategic Planning committee is examining the logistics of continued growth and how best to continue serving families in the St. Louis area.
If you are interested in becoming part of the YouthBridge family and exploring your charitable giving options, please contact Andranique Joe, Director of Philanthropy.
For those who wish to make a lasting investment in GRC’s future, you are invited to contribute directly to its Endowment through the YouthBridge Giving Hub (Designated Fund for GRC Forever Fund). These gifts are not general donations, but contributions to GRC’s Endowment—helping build long-term financial stability and ensuring the organization can continue serving gifted children for generations to come.
