“I read every word of the grant applications we receive, because I respect the work and thought that goes into them. We ask a lot of questions,” says Tyler Ray.
“When you’re responsible for a caseload of clients in the hundreds each year, anything that takes away from direct services is burning up those precious hours,” says Amy Robins, Forensic Services Program Director for The Child Center.
Equity, as in ownership, can build social equity, says Michael Woods, co-founder and Executive Director of Dream Builders 4 Equity. “When you give people ownership of their communities, they realize the power they have to change the systems holding them back,” he says.
Jennifer Hillman knows a simple truth. “When you help others, you help yourself. It’s how I was raised, what my husband and I taught our children and certainly what I’ve experienced through my philanthropic work. The gift is really to me,” she says.
